What A Year 2015 Was

I think we need to take stock on last year, now that 2015 is history, and what it meant for Traveller.

The biggest thing to hit this forum this year just gone was Mongoose Traveller 2.0 - something which, from what I could see, had been on the boards since before 2014, never mind 2015.

We also managed to finally see the ending of The Pirates of Drinax - an epic long in the making, and something I'd have loved to have been involved in, because it was for me the epitome of everything Traveller stood for.

One of the worst things this year, however, was that 2015 claimed one of our own. The late Don McKinney had been having problems for some time, and he succumbed to his condition in 2015, to the great grief of those who'd been working so closely with him to make Mongoose Traveller 2.0 a reality. Rest easy, Don.

We'll love and hate 2015, in the years to come. More hate than love - 2015 seemed to work so hard to cull the famous, killing off people right up to the wire. But it gave us a new Star Wars, and a new Traveller, and a fantastic season for Doctor Who, and a trailer for a forthcoming Star Trek that had us on the edge of our seats, hurling heavy objects at the screen.

Looking forward to the full non-playtest release of Mongoose Traveller 2.0, Mongoose High Guard 2.0 and Central Supply Catalogue 2.0 this year, and all that is to come. I just wish Don could be with us on the rest of this journey.

Well said! Happy new year to everyone and happy gaming. Looking forward to playing MGT2 this year with friends.

Don, may your ship sail true! We will think of you in our gaming.

2015 was a mixed year with pain in it.

Hopefully the new year will be better; I may well get the Beta after all.

I got a book submission accepted :D...even if a bit of bad timing has delayed it until 2016 :D
Mongoose actually gave me a chance to chime in about what I would like to see in their new version.
Met some people I actually like to chat with...
Saw the passing of writers, designers, and actors, who have kept me entertained for decades...
still can't spiel worth a dern..and spellcheck don't always catch it when I miss up.
