Older materials suggested that it wasn't so much special software as an absence of need that keeps jump coordination rare in civilian life. The big navies may have software (and the robust commlinks) that make it *easier*, though.

Right. This is more of comm coordination that a computing problem. Getting one set of jump coordinates used by multiple ships at the same time. Wouldn't take any particular size of computer to use that s/w.
