WaW Game Photos

Graywinter

Mongoose
This is the game Non Com and I played last week at a store here. We're going to play another tomorrow, and might even post an AAR.

It was 1500 points, my US Infantry vs his German Grenadiers.

Very nice photo's, someday someone will tell me how to take in-focus in-game photo's. Be warned though the page is one heck of a large download.

Yeah, the guy who runs the store and the website didn't scale them down. He once told me that he could barely spell html so don't hold him to any kind of high standard. :) He's as cool a fellow as you could hope for, tho.

I know I will sound very old fashioned and like a teacher, but -
read the manual of your camera!

(Sorry, it was too tempting...) :D

LOL - there is that. The problem I have that the lighting is not good, if I use flash then I get white burn-out on the closest objects and if I don't then the shutter speed is to slow and I get camera shake. The only good shots I get is if I flash and stand further back but the models are then to small or use a tripod and timer and get just a small piece of the action.

The other problem I have is forgetting to switch the macro on/off

I got reasonable good result using a very small table tripod.
(Mine is really tiny, like 3 20cm legs, thats it)
I agree that using the flash is not an option!

If you can't do that download a simple tool for XP (if you have XP) that resizes a photo at a time or a full directory VERY easily:

Most of the Americans are Victory Force, I think the Germans are all Crusader.

That's actually a Hellcat, by the way - at least it's supposed to be. And it is a potent little TD - fast as hell but just as hard hitting as the 76mm Sherman.

It blows stuff up real good - just don't get hit!

Of course it is, now that I take a closer look. I saw the close up of the turret and thought it was a chunky metal casting of an M36 turret.

Glad to see the Hellcat getting some use, I can't find a model of it in 1/72 for anything.

There's what promises to be a nice M-18 model coming in this range...

http://www.xs4all.nl/~cromwell/76War.html

and there is (or was - I heard they may have closed down) a company called Rhino Models who do (or did) one in 1/72 but I've not seen one to date.

There is a company call Hobby Armor Depot, that makes resin models (I think they are casts of other kits) and the stuff is kinda iffy on quality but are realy really cheap ($18 each) The Hellcat is from them, as is my Chaffee.

Great models for $18, and takes a little work to clean up but cant beat the price.

The Hobby Armor Depot looks like a great resource for 28mm, nice find. Cromwell always has beautiful looking models, but the majority are in 1/76, rather than 1/72.

Gotta be careful with HAD, they got some bad press which is probably true, but just make sure you order in small lots and email ahead to find out what he has in stock so you will know when to expect your models.

I hear about people who didn't get their stuff and lost money, but it turns out they just sent the money and the order for about 50 vehicles. The guy does all this out of his home in his spare time so he probably got swamped and lazy and lost track.

I ordered three vehicles, and got them in a week's time. YMMV.
