Mongoose
I know that it's a traveller system supplement but even so.

For those of you that haven't spotted it yet:

As a sneak peek, we finally locked the ships that will be appearing in this book;

Hermes
Hyperion
Nova
Olympus
Omega
Warlock
Bin Tak
Dag Kar
G’Quan
Sho Kos
T’Loth
Darkner
Demos
Octurion
Primus
Sentri
Vorchan
Torotha
Avioki
Bimith
Sky Serpent
Strike Hawk
Xill
Drakh
Shadow Fighter
Shadow Ship
Victory
Vorlon
White Star

Now maybe it's just me but apart from the White Star aren't we missing any Minbari vessels?

Matt, shurely some mistake, I mean don't make me call you Shirley!

LBH

Well all the ships I wanted are in there; and I am much relieved to see the Victory on the list after my conversation with Matt at the last B5 day :D

As for the Minbari - you are spot on LBH! What's happened to all the boneheads???

DW

Well here's the reply I got when I asked Matt:

>>>What's with the complete absence of any Minbari vessels? (Barring the WS
>>>of course)

Have another look, and think about the types of ships that will be used most
in the game :)

Matthew

I don;t know what ships other peole are likely to use in the game, but c'mon, how can you miss out one of the big 4 completely. IMO the WS doesn't count.

how strange - I would have thought a Sharlin was farily essential ?

Campaigns in EM war period
Shadow War period
ISA period - especially since the Rangers base (if people want to be Rangers) is a modified Sharlin?

I can see stats for Shadow Ships and Fighters as well as Vorlon but deck plans probbaly not needed?

Don't forget that were probably be SOME ships in the B5 sourcebook. I figure that is where the Starfury and some of the smaller ships might be. Perhaps the Minbari ship is there?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Matt said the little ships (flyers, etc) would be in the main B5 book.

OK there is a Torotha, but there SHOULD be a Sharlin, c'mon.

Oh and Da Boss, re it being a draft list, notice the use of the word 'locked' in the Planet Mongoose post.

LBH
We need Sharlins!!!

But the Avalanche has already started!

It is too late for the Pebbles to vote!

BTW that is my work signature.... I get more comments on that one that I ever did using Rocky Horror Picture Show quotes! 8)

Sharlins and the Technomage Pinace too! Give us some framework to get started with if we have to make the class again for Traveler. :)

Why the obsession with Technomages? They're rare NPC characters at best, unless you're running a historical game. They're not around for much of the Shadow War and Crusade eras. I'd rather have ships from the races that are around. If a Pinnace is required, a dig in to High Guard and the B5 books should allow a GM to come up with one.

Looks like the Sharlin is included in the book

Whether you need a small frigate for players to crew or a terrifying Sharlin warcruiser for them to escape from, everything you need to ply the space lanes of the Babylon 5 universe can be found here.

As AndrewW pointed out in the other thread:

We have had some new books completed while we were away in Vegas too. I have just finished looking over Warships of Babylon 5, and I think there will be people who go dippy over it - after all, who would not want to explore a Sharlin, inside out?

I _do_ have some concerns over producing deck plans of larger ships. On the one hand, we cannot go into corridor by corridor detail of a battleship or dreadnought unless we dedicate an entire box set to it - thus limiting the ships we can cover. On the other hand, I know from play experience (with Star wars, as the players crept on board a Droid Control Ship) that even a general guide as to where things lie on a ship is enough to conduct a long series of missions.

We will likely steer clear of very large ships for a while, once Warships has come out, until we find a suitable box set project. That said, we have already produced enough large ships for players to be getting on with for a good while, and in Warships even the 80,000 tonner Tigara has plans that are clear and easy to use. As for the likes of the Warbird and Hermes, well, they will be a joy to get into games!

The release of the Universe of Babylon 5 book sparked some debate about the use of fuel on board B5 ships, mirroring those in Traveller. Personally speaking, I am in two minds about this. It 'feels' a little odd at first, true, but given the (enforced) short life span of the Traveller-B5 line, we wanted to maintain a direct link with regular Traveller vessels, so the two universes could draw upon one another's ships with the least amount of work required for the referee. The next major ship-based sci-fi property we tackle will likely have complete revisions to Traveller-tech!

Oh, and yes, the Shadow Ship is in this book. But don't expect deck plans. . .

Sharlins cometh!!!

Then the obvious question, why not mentioned in the list in the Planet Mongoose post?

LBH

Maybe it was an oversight that got corrected when the list was posted here. You all did make a rather large stink about it... maybe someone was listening...
