Very Weird Dream

I had a very weird dream early this morning. I dreamed that I was the owner/ captain of a Free Trader, possibly a Far Trader. I woke up in my dream with a lovely brunette beside me in bed.

Turns out that the woman is the ship's Chief Steward/Purser, that I'd met her for the first time six weeks before while recruiting for new crew, that she was sleeping with me ... and then she announces in the dream that she'd been to see the ship's Medic.

Turns out she was nine weeks pregnant. She wanted to convert one of the spare staterooms into a nursery.

I have never, in all my life, dreamed of being in Traveller. But even then, this took the biscuit for my dreams.

Now that I have shared this with you, has anybody else dreamed of being a Traveller and plying the Spinward Main?

You know, none come to me, which seems kind of odd. When we were big into RPGs I did have at least one D&D sorta dream, and one time I must have been dreaming something D&D related because I woke up panicked, nearly screaming, heart racing, sweating buckets. Nearly* screaming what you ask? DRAGON!! lol

* might have actually uttered something, I think my roomy remarked on it later but don't recall for sure

I was in a deep sleep, early morning, against the neighboring apartment bathroom wall backing right on my paper thin bedroom wall, they cranked the shower on, and the sound (a loud whooshing roar) penetrated into my unconscious mind and the image that was immediately conjured was that a great old red dragon was breathing fire at me. That was the only time I've ever sat (jumped more like) bolt upright from deep sleep into instant full wakefulness. I was scrambling to dodge and find cover. I was half way out of bed diving for the floor before I realized where I really was. I like to think I made that saving throw with a natural 20 :-)

Not a Traveller, but since I usually work on my settings and campaigns in
the late evening before going to bed, I quite often dream of the setting I
was working on - I even got some of my best ideas for characters and ad-
ventures from such dreams.

In hindsight I actually find the idea of raising families aboard a Free Trader and just keeping the ship running, keeping it flying when it ought to fall down, somewhat charming, in a Firefly kind of way.

Though I seriously found myself breathing a sigh of relief when I dreamed she had been made pregnant three weeks before I'd even met her.

At least it wasn't one of mine. :)

If I find someone who looks like the brunette in the dream I had, I will certainly be willing to initiate that dynasty here and now ...

Build it (the Free Trader) and they (she) will come. :D

I once had a Traveller dream. I was some kind of crewman on a free trader, the captain was a very nice brunette from some TV show. She was no Janeway ;)

I was indispensible, I think I must have had JoT-3!

I was the hero of the ship... and gained the gratitude of the captain.

Dreams, eh!

I've had a few game related dreams over the years, in the Traveller ones I'm usually a scout pilot.

I also dream that I'm running games for friends I played with back in the day.

I've used some for scenario ideas.

The Cthulhu inspired dreams are best forgotten!

The only dreams that ever got me sat up in bed sweating, thanking god they weren't real, were absolutley terrifying nightmares where I was hunting an alien (HR Giger) in a deserted city with friends.

I just want the dream where I and my friends are ZOMBIE hunting for the bounty on them. In my dream they was 50 bucks each, and I was able to buy all the RPG books I wanted lol. Never had a Traveller dream but I did dream I owned the Falcon from star wars is that close enough.
