Is anyone out there mad enough to be playing VaS with 1/700th plastic kits? Me & another crazy are toying with the idea due to the profusion of nice relatively cheap WW2 kits available on the market at present.

You joke about it but when VaS was first planned, we looked at doing pre-paints in a scale close to this.

You should find the game works fine :)

IIRC Matt aimed at the 1/1200 scale...

IMO it should work. The weapon ranges will look a bit strange, but let's face it, they look also strange in most other ship scales...

Pre paints!! How cool would that be :D

I have dusted off a whole stack of 1/700th ship & aircraft kits I bought in a rash " Heres another wierd project to stack in the shed for a later date" moment..... Most are IJN & very nice kits indeed. My mate has some Royal Navy & Germans lurking around.....We were going to play this out in the carpark @ our games club with some Islands to break it up a bit to stir up the "GW Only brigade"

Always a good thing to do

Its funny as some of them are not aware that you can play a wargame that has miniatures that you have made yourself that dont have a bolt gun and a multi las cannon - plasma combo hanging off its arm with Teleport as an ability

No, but F-14s and the Nimitz can time travel :)

Yeah, what was that movie called??

"The Final Countdown"

Thanks for reminding me guys.

Ah yes, the eighties - when America ruled the waves, rogue time portals roamed the Pacific and my girlfriend wore blue eye shadow..... God I miss rogue time portals !!

I believe that if you look closley in one of the shots, you can see the sailors on the carrier are playing a new board war game by Avalon Hill called "Squad Leader".
