Mongoose
This is a general question for the RPG community, but as my experience is mostly with Mongoose products I thought I'd start here. For the most part, MgT1 was my first real foray into a rpg system where I went with mostly electronic copies. I'm not sure if this is a Mongoose-centric question, or if the RPG community as whole operates the same way. The main reason is I came to the system late, and hard copies were hard to find. I did pick up any of the books that I found for sale over the years, and have a decent collection for MgT1. That said, I think I bought just about every book for Traveller that Mongoose put out in PDF format.

My question is why don't the pdfs see regular updates? (Some of the supplements especially were a hot mess!) When typos are found by the community, when rules issues crop up on the forums and are ironed out, when Matt and other authors answers all sorts of questions about the products, why don't these make it into the pdf, and get reissued on a regular (quarterly?) basis to those of us who have bought them? I know it's a moot point now as MgT1 is abandoned, but I'm curious why that wasn't standard practice and why it wouldn't be going forward with MgT2 and your other products...or RPG products in general if this is an issue endemic to the community.

I guess what I'm asking is how come the electronic formats of the books aren't living documents that are modified and fixed along the way, and pushed out to the community much like video games get regular patches? It seems like it would be fairly easy to do, and would be a boon to the Mongoose product line....you know a boon, as opposed to a bane. :P

We are indeed compiling issues as they are found in the new edition, and PDFs will be updated.

That's good to hear! Any idea what kind of release schedule you'll be looking at for said PDF updates?
