Unique Ships

I've said to before - Narn ships always blow up when being shot at - maybe they are made of explosive material!

Actually going on the B5Wars fluff there is another posibility that occured to me for the In the Beginning incident:

It wasnt a Vorchan at all, it was a Dargan using its chameleon field to LOOK like one :P

You'd think the Narns would start trying to kamikazee everyone seeing how much their ships blow up! You know try and actually get some enemy ships for once.

Is it just me, or is the Dusk Coutari the most blatent piece of ret-conning ever done in B5, and all to cover a massive CGI cock-up? :P

Seconded, though it was just possible for the Demos to do it in B5 Wars, especailly if the Narn vessel was not at battle-stations.

Thirded? :?

of course it might have got a 6-6 ....... several times! :P

You?! I'm sure it was EP... :?

Eh, I don't care who it was. Point is, it wasn't a bloody Vorchan that killed that G'Quan...

definitely wasn't me, I've never seen proof that a Primus was intended to come through the jump point. The show wasn't based on a wargame so to JMS there is no reason why a Vorchan cannot destroy a G'Quan in one shot if plot requires

1) The G'Quan may have been badly damaged already. Thus it would be possible for a Vorchan or Demos to finish it off especially if it is trying to take hits so it can shield fleeing transports.

2) What appeared to be a G'Quan may instead have been a G'Koth.

The following applies equally

The G'Koth was the most blatant piece of ret-conning ever done...mkII !!

what about a babylon 4? Dont forget it had engines, so whilst it would only move about a 1/2 " each turn you could say it counts as a ship (ie not an immobile space station)

I would like to see personality on a shadow ship in the form of a Narn telepath being in there from the last shadow war. I just think that since each ship is unique from the others some type of differences should be there as well. Not major ones mind you but there. Narn Shadow ship= takes damage more than others

Just a thought

I was just going to say, more damn ret-conning...

If the G'Quan was damaged it would be visible. Clutching at straws is worse than ret-conning!

Damage will not necessarily be apparent to the naked eye at range. That is why navies do full engineering surveys of their ships to determine if they are undamaged rather than just looking undamaged :P

If it doesn't have gaping, unrepaired holes, isn't on fire or isn't leaking atmosphere, damage may not be apparent or even visible to the naked eye. Also, at no point was there ever a close-up 360 degree view of the entire ship.

Remember, USS Yorktown looked undamaged to the Japanese at Midway.

yeah, the g'quan attacked by the secundus outside B5 didnt look very damage from outside, but we all knew it was cos they said it was.
although to lose to B5 (was it pre refit?) and a damage g'quan that cant even fire its beam is poor going, perhaps the secundus was damaged.
