Ugliest Ship in ACTA?

And that's where ground zero comes in...

Weren't you planning on using Ground Zero Games minis as a dilgar fleet? I agree they'd look cool, just curious which fleet did you buy...

ah sorry yes - I was thinking like a Dilgar - ground zer0 = nukes!! :)

Yeah I have the GZG ships - I must get on and do some stuff on our Dilgar ideas! :)

I guess I forgot the "games"... Are they painted yet? If they're good quality minis I might want to get some (after the buying frenzy ends)

The Adira - could have been so good, turned out so bad! Refused to buy one and instead converted one out of an Octurion with a double central hull.

The Brivoki - although we've not seen the finished figure, just the prototype. Oh, hang on, we're not going to see the finished figure now, are we....

The whitestar carrier - but then again had an old whitestar in resin that was the right scale to use as a carrier, so used that instead.

Have to disagree about some others mentioned:

The Liati - with a good paint job it no longer looks like a flying dildo. And the pipes on the top, they are intended to have turrets fitted, the ship has turret mounted weapons after all.

The Dilgar fleet - totally disagree, they are one of the nicer and more original fleets out there, with a very distinctive style and a degree of elegence rarely found in a fleet.

Drakh cockroach (sorry cruiser) - Organic shape and smooth texture makes painting it in interesting patterns something of a pleasure, can certainly be made to look good.

I did say paint job will enter the equation... Oh, wait :? it's in the "best looking ship" thread. Darn it..

Anywhoo, I've yet to see a decent (unconverted) Liati.

Someone said something similar about the Adira (all it needs is an understanding painter, something like that). Can't remember who... :?

Never understood why the Drakh mothership from the series wasn't used as the basis for the ACTA mothership. Can't think of any other Drakh ships that appeared in the series other than the raiders, which are nice and actually go together well.

@ Locutus: Is it that obvious?

@ Nightmares: There are Tankers (ACTA), another large ship which may or may not be called mothership (B5: Lines of Communications), Cruisers (Crusade).

That would explain it, only seen ACTA once, and that was a dodgy video copy some years ago, and only saw crusade once, last year.

I'll go sit in the corner with my dunce hat on.

Meanwhile, back on topic, what do people think about the EA early years fleet, incredibly ugly boxes, but perfect for the early years fleet. Does that make them good or bad?

Theres more than just the tankers, there is something never seen again - lines of communication looks like a big cruiser, but the ship from ACTA does look mothership´ish. It´s in the top left corner when the Drakh fleet advances towards earth; I´ll have to look for a picture, I know I´ve seen one on the web somewehere
