Turning something real into Traveller

Something funny in both good ways and bad ways happened years back to me and I want suggestions for using it for a 1-off comic relief scene within a scene in Traveller. If I ever do it again

Back in 2,004 I left A Book in my Home for Autistic Home for Young Men Lounge, went out for a few hours came back, it was gone and never saw it again

Fast forward 10 years to 2,014 I'm in a different Autistic Home for Young Men Lounge, decide for nostalgia to order another copy, it comes and I discover that its the same book that was stolen but presumed lost roughly 10.31 years ago. I have a laugh and leave it as I have no proof at all

Any ideas for converting this personal experance that's good, bad and funny on different ways, not all of them easy to explain, Any ideas for using this for a 1-off comic relief scene within a scene in Traveller. If I ever do it again

PS 100% true but also 100% unprovable so I never bothered

Imagine finding something you lost in a starport lounge in a different lounge several parsecs away.

Worse... you see the old handcomp you lost in someone's hand. It's been years and half a subsector but you're sure.

And weren't there some incriminating files on it, now you think?

Running with that one....

... you hear about a strangely familar heist. The one you've been planning, in fact. The culprits got caught with all the details on their handcomp and... hey! Where's my.....?

A guy in a starport bar offers you a jump cassette with the route to a system well of the beaten track that is rumoured to be the location of alien ruins/pirate treasure/old gods. You take him up on the offer and buy the cassette.

Upon returning to your ship no one can remember who had the cassette or what they did with it.

A few weeks later a guy in a starport bar offers you a jump cassette...

Maybe a vac-suit with all the same settings that you use, and then you find it already has your ID code in it, just like the one at your old base some 15 years ago...

You fill in for a sick shuttle pilot and the controls are configured EXACTLY as you like them, even though it's an unusual setup you're sure nobody else uses.
