This is Gregory Privat's version of Trollball.

He ran it at Tentacles 2007 with miniatures and scenery and it was wonderful. The game played very well and was fast and easy to play. In fact, it was a lot faster and easier than Chaosium's original game.

This version, I believe, uses a printed map and Gregory's rules, so it should be as easy to play and a lot more portable.

I didn't get one at Tentacles because money was tight, but if they aren't at Continuum I'll get one on eBay.

If you like short (hour long) intense games using miniatures or even printed figures, then this is the game for you.

Doesn't it take its roots in Bloodbowl?

If by "Take its roots in" you mean "Was published 5 years before", then you may have a point (The Chaosium "Trollpak" was published in 1982, the first edition of Blood Bowl was published by Games Workshop in 1987.)

And the publisher of "Blood Bowl", Games Workshop" was Chaosiums British licensee for RuneQuest until 1984...

If only Chaosium had published a miniature game version of Trollball by that time...
