Traveller Publisher Feedback forum now open at SFRPG.

This is just to let everyone know that we've just created a Traveller Publisher Feedback forum on the SFRPG boards. It is located at:

http://www.sfrpg.org.uk/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=52

We've set this up to be a place where people can tell others about the good and bad experiences that they've had when dealing with Traveller publishers in terms of customer service. We feel that there needs to be a neutral forum where publishers can be held accountable for their faults, and praised for their successes, so we're putting up this forum as a service to everyone who buys Traveller products.

This also applies to freelancers, contributors and artists - if you've been treated professionally by Traveller publishers then say so there. If you've been treated poorly, then let people know there too.

Obviously if you have problems with a publisher then you first need to attempt to resolve it with that publisher directly before you post anything on the Feedback board. But if your attempts at resolution are getting you nowhere, or if you are disappointed by the service you received, then let people know about it on that forum. And also be sure to let everyone know know if/when the problem is resolved too, and how you feel about the service you received.

There are some basic rules - don't make up problems that don't exist, criticise the company rather than any individuals, and no anonymous sniping or company shills/self-promotion. We want it kept honest and civilised, but we'll be keeping an eye on it.

The important thing to realise is that we also want people to post about their GOOD experiences when dealing with Traveller publishers too (right now Mongoose is getting a strong thumbs up in service there, so well done Mongoose!).

So if you have any good or bad experiences that you want to share about any Traveller publisher then please register on the SFRPG board (if you haven't done so already) and let everyone know.

EDIT: Also, if you know of anyone who has had good or bad experiences that they want to share with people but who hasn't read this post, please do let them know about that forum!

And to be clear, this forum will cover all current Traveller publishers and any third party publishers. So far, this would include the following publishers:

Mongoose Publishing
Avenger/Comstar
Steve Jackson Games (SJG)
Far Future Enterprises (FFE)
Quiklink Interactive (QLI)
Spica Publishing
Jon Brazer Enterprises (JBE)
D.B. Game Design (DBGD)
Loren Wiseman Enterprises
BITS
Samardan Press
Hell Creek Sanitarium (once they've published their first product)

I think B.I.T.S. would also be on that list, though they've been quiet recently.

The two miniatures licenses from last year appear, by some things posted on TMP by Johnny Lauck of MegaMinis, to be down to one: Ad Astra Games. Mr. Lauck has stated that he now considers licensing (of any kind) to have been a mistake on his part. Since he was the one doing the 25mm Traveller aliens, it is safe to assume that we will see no more of those from MegaMinis.

Dang!
Traveller character minis remain an unachievable Holy Grail, I see.

Ahem... Samardan Press would like to be on that list. ;)

Thanks,

You can be, if you've actually sold anything commercially yet! (I thought you'd just done Stellar Reaches?) ;)

Flynn's Guide to Alien Creation was indeed a Traveller product. I hope that qualifies. :)

Thanks,
Flynn

Oh yeah, duh! .

(it wasn't that I didn't think you'd published anything, I just had no recollection of what you had published!)

Though now I look at it, you have the same initials as Spica Publishing :).

You could always use SAM for Samardan Press, if you're looking for a 3-letter designation.

Just a thought,
Flynn

I have been in contact with Marc about this and hes OK with it.
