Just a quick question: are there any decent Traveller novels out there? I thought MJD wrote one, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know if they are available in e-book format?

Yes in fact there was a recent offer on the PDFs of the Traveller:New Era trilogy, with both endings (original thought lost and Marc Miller's replacement). Check Drive Thru RPG

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveller_%28role-playing_game%29

Several novels have been specifically set in the various Traveller universes:

Death of Wisdom Book 1 of 3 by Paul Brunette. ISBN 1-55878-181-1
To Dream of Chaos Book 2 of 3 by Paul Brunette. ISBN 1-55878-184-6
The Backwards Mask Book 3 of 3 by Matthew Carson. (finally published March 2011 though only for Kindle) [2]
Marc Miller's Traveller: Gateway to the Stars by Pierce Askegren. ISBN 0-671-01188-X
The Force of Destiny by Dale Kemper (this book does not seem to exist)
Diaspora Phoenix by Martin J. Dougherty [3]
Tales of the New Era 1: Yesterday’s Hero by Martin J. Dougherty [4] (a 6 page short tale seemingly only available online in pdf format)
The Road Less Travelled by Marc Miller (this book does not seem to exist)

In addition, Jefferson Swycaffer has written several novels set in the "Concordat" fictional universe he originally developed for his Traveller campaign.

P.S. - The Kieth brothers wrote a lot of Traveller material - and a lot of novels. Don't recall novels, though, that were specifically Traveller - however, these two used a lot of different pen names (heck, they might even be in the list above).

Yesterdays hero was a set of short stories detailing the life/career/end of the woman and her service with the Reformation Coalition.

They were published online, lost, refound and vanished then came out as a sort of novel which I remember having owned at one point.

You can get these three (third in both versions I mentioned) as a bundle at http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=88914
To quote from the page about "The Backwards Mask, Book 3 of 3"
The TNE Novel-3 The Backwards Mask GDW 381.5
GDW commissioned a novel trilogy in support of Traveller: The New Era, and published two of the three before they closed their doors in 1996. Regretably, the third novel lay forgotten and unpublished in the GDW archives for more than fifteen years. In that time, Traveller designer Marc Miller searched for a conclusion to the story arc. Ultimately, he teamed up with writer Matthew Carson to create from whole cloth a new final novel. THEN, the manuscript for the original third novel was discovered. The strange result is a trilogy with TWO endings: the one Marc Miller wanted it to be, and the unpublished original. Both now available here for the first time.
The new version, Mathew Carson, is 650 pgs long. On the cover the pilot wears an orange colored jacket.
The original, Paul Brunette, is 190 pages long. On the cover the pilot wears a pink jacket.

I own physical copies of the first two novels, purchased like five+ years ago, and just recently picked up the bundle but haven't been able to read the two final books yet. I did enjoy the first two.

I have this collection and it is GREAT! I would offer to share, but MJD scares me very much and I know how he feels about Royalties!

I have one in pdf format on one of my old servers.
Don't recall the title or the author at the moment.
It was a Mileu 0 (I think) era novel about a young man from a low tech planet that eventually becomes part of a military starship crew after saving one of the marines lives.

One thing I do remember was that the contact teams would sometimes support "TEDdys" (Technologically Elelevated Dictators)

The novel was actually pretty good and a really fun read.

If anyone knows the title or author, please post it here as it will be a few weeks before I get a chance to go through all my mothballed servers and workstations.
