Traveller Liftoff crowdfunding is here

I think another problem they have is that you can still download the PDF's for free. Yes they are not final versions but they will work, why would I pay that much for PDF's with art when I can get PDF's without art for free?

It is a shame it will not get funded, but I will not put in money for something in EURO when I will get financially *#^&@) with the exchange rate and shipping to Canada.

I Looked at getting that real nice map they have for traveller and with the exchange and shipping it was like over 100.00 CDN at the time, which sorry I have bills and a budget I have to live on can't buy pretty maps for that kind of money in my life.

If nothing changes soon it will be of the magnitude of the Apollo 1 incident...

Because equating the lack of crowd funding success for an RPG with the deaths of three actual people is always classy...

And intentionally misunderstanding the thrust of a comment is SO intelligent.

Another boi in short pants correctly categorized.

Don't flatter yourself, there wasn't that much to misunderstand. :)

And I'm 43, but the wife does love it when I wear short pants. :D

Way to get defensive though, top Mongoose marks.

Ya, that was a weird comment. Part of the problem that exists with some RPGers and their social skills.

Doesn't it though? For a pass time that thrives on clear and concise communication, it can be in shockingly short supply at times.

I don’t care too much for getting pdfs. It was the box set idea for beginners that appealed….and it’s looks like it’s not going to happen.

This is a shame, but I think it can be accounted for by weak marketing and promotion generally. Possibly, people could think of ways of doing it again - and maybe a kickstarted campaign rather than indiegogo might be something to be looked at too. Perhaps, rather than just endorsing an idea, Mongoose could think of doing something like this themselves?

Or maybe just consider a campaign for a deluxe version for the next printing - with things like more art, and full colour layout as incentives?

Only partially. This product was aimed at new players. Most of its intended audience neither knows or cares about Trav. On the flip side, T5 was aimed at the existing fan base.

"cloud" funding isn't a good model for all projects/products. This was an example of one where it isn't a good fit. Sometimes it takes sweat equity rather than relying on potential customers to finance a start up project.
