Traveller Core Rulebook Backordered?

I've attempted a few times to contact Mongoose via email this past week, but with no replies.

A family member purchased a copy of the Traveller Core Rulebook before Christmas as a gift for me. It did not arrive by Christmas and he inquired with Mongoose about the order status. He was told that the Core Rulebook was on backorder and would be shipped to me by mid-January.

Here we are: mid-February. No Core Rulebook. No replies from Mongoose. What's the story guys?

With regards to the book, yes it has been out of print, and we should have had a delivery before Christmas. However, the good news is that new stock (a fair few tons of it!) is arriving next Tuesday!

Matthew - Thank you for the quick reply. Glad to hear the new stock will be in on Tuesday. I've been trying to make due with both the Pocket edition and the PDF, but my eyes aren't what they used to be. Looking forward to the shipment!

OK -- it's now Thursday.

(1) Did the stock of core rulebooks arrive at Mongoose?
(2) Have you shipped orders on backorder?

I am afraid the shipment from the printers missed the freight forwarder in New York (which we are not best pleased about). This means the books will cross the Atlantic today, be at our shipper's on Monday and with us on Tuesday. If you are in the UK, you will get your book on Wednesday or Thursday, Royal Mail permitting.

Sorry about that, but there was not much we could do about it.

So let me see if I completely understand where we're at. The books are in the process of shipping from the US to the UK. You will get them on Tuesday and will turn around and send them out--in my case, back to the US. So I'm probably looking at 10-14 days from Tuesday.

I'm sure my patience will be rewarded. In the mean time, I availed myself of your current ebook sale and purchased a number of Traveller titles, so I have plenty of new material to start planning a basic campaign.

So here we are 11 days after the projected Tuesday ship date with nothing appearing here. Were you still on schedule to ship?
