I do miss the Tower - the forums were my favourite part! Facebook is just not the same, but it's a lot better than nothing.
Oh and those of you using the "My Heroes Ability" on me - my facebook account isn't working at the moment (I'm blaming the internet) so when I can log in fully, I'll be right back at you! (as Vordash the Necromancer of course. Who says I don't get out?!)

This has been posted this morning on the PA board by KHFA/KLSS.
Good news is that Joe Dever himself would like to join TotS once it will be rebuilt. He has also accepted to redo the interview (that originally took place back in August) that has been lost in the Maaken Gorge when Darklord Vashna has been sent back there (but it's just a rumor).

That is good news. I think he has the right to reserve whatever username he wants (be it Joe Dever, Lone Wolf, King Ulnar IV, Kai or even anything else he choses as long as it's not one of those annoying l33t nonsense ones that get up people's noses

If the backup was corrupt too that sounds quite serious. I hope it's not a virus or anything or hacker like before.
I can't realize who would have hijacked ToTS.
Virus spammers and hackers target sites that makes people pissed off.
So, how can ToTS make someone so angry to decide to destroy the Tower?

Possibly FH, but if the hosting company was any good, then it shouldnt have been.
Still corruptions can occur at any point and it depends on how often ToTs was backed up by the host. If it was weekly, then the corruption could have happened and yes that would affect the backup. Same thing for daily, but then I guess you could roll back to a backup where it definately WAS working.
Still, for all those ToTs 'fugees who need a place to stay, head over to here.

Sorry FH, but I must that you are naive to think that hackers only attack sites that make people pissed off. TotS has been attacked before for no other reason than the thrill of it. The website of the company that I'm working for has been hacked too in the past: we are just a publishing company making six local weekly newspaper in Canada, and the attack came from the US. Think of MafiaBoy, the 15-years-old who hacked CNN, Yahoo!, Amazon, Dell and eBay on the same day back in 2000 simply for the fun of it.
