Thunderbolt New Mould

Mongoose
An FYI for all the EA players out there.

I just got in a 24 Tbolt flights order. Near as I can tell almost all of the Tbolts are near perfect mould and the casting looks very recent. I have no wings aor engine mangled or miscast, the very wing tips on a fw are a bit short but there. Its a far cry from several Tbolts I got months ago.

So if anyone was holding off on buying earth fighters, nows a good time, you won't be disappointed.

So I'm guessing the Tbolt mould got redone. Any offical confirmation or did I just get lucky?

im waiting on 2 packs of thunderbolts and breaching pods, mine seemed ok just 2 engines missing on some Starfuries of mine thats all

ooooooh!

finally!

my last lot there was actually one PERFECT one, it even had the little nose cannon barrel, wings ect, saddly the majority were hardly worth bothering with.

anyone else confirm this at all?

thanks so much for the heads up - though it will be you fault if I end up parting with cash Angelus

edit: spelling, meh

Mine all blew chunks, but they were from the original fleet box sets. I nearly sent them all back but decided that I'd just get the same quality back. Glad to hear they've improved. Where did you get yours?

I've noticed that my recent Thunderbolts are much better quality too. So much so that I've just ordered a few blisters of them to round out my EA fleets!

I've ordered mine from FRP games usually; its a US distributor. You can tell if you get the new ones because the sprue piece is completely chopped off leaving just the mounting stem.

Don't get me wrong, there not perfect out of the box. There is some filing and clipping that needs to be done at the winglets outboard of the engines and under the fusaelage. BUT the entire mini is there, and the aft thrust parts on the vast majority of the ones I have are fully molded and symmetrical; I had about 6-7 duds out of 96 or so.

The lack of the sprue is kinda of pain, good intentions gone awry, as on my earlier ones I just paint the mini while still on the sprue, then clip and glue. I have been using craft/popsicle sticks to do a temp mount for painting, one stick will hold 6 fighters.

Furthur FYI.

Starfuries look to be much better now too. 8 flights I've only got 2 individual fighters were the engine is just a glob, all the rest are in fairly good to extremely good shape
