Thirdspace Contence

That's not what I wanted to hear...I was hoping it'd be here soon. I have a Thirdspace relic (or a piece of one, anyway) as a side quest hook in a lab my PCs are raiding, and I was hoping to have more than just the movie to go on when I filled out its details.

Well lets see: The fully story of the incident in 2261 (and the aftermath), stats for those who live in Thirdspace, their ships, their constructs and how they interact with the races that follow them.

Plus a history of the Thirdspace Wars (note: Wars plural!!!), and stats for ... a few things I was not expecting!

Oh, and a scenario as well :D

PS. Gabriel_Luna - you will find out exactly what sort of trouble a left over bit or two can cause

Heh I'm a Lovecraftian scholar, so I have a good idea of what sorts of problems they could cause. But some canon rules and some samples to draw from for details would certainly help. Right now all I'm certain of is that it's a mostly-closed window and it was broken into pieces at some point in the past. What influence they can exert, and what other properties it might have are still in flux, though I doubt it will be acting in the PC's best interests

I was not expecting the stats for all the First Ones at Coriana VI - a nice bonus there. You were very, very close Derina!

Gabriel_Luna - I cannot describe myself as a Lovecraftian scholar but ever since I first encountered the mythos in the original printing of Dieties & Demigods I've been a big fan of the Big C. There is enough info in Thirdspace to take a standard CoC game and look at it anew through a B5 lens - alien fragments, forbidden knowledge from beyond the veil, cults, sacrifices & "demons" they are all in there. In fact a cruel GM could run a 20thC game with the players as investigators dealing with strange cults trying to summon alien gods that would destroy the world! And not a PPG in sight...

There is also a online resource called Cthulhu Rising - it is a setting using the standard CoC rules 300 years in the future (a lot like the Aliens universe in style) dealing with the plots of the Old Ones on an interstellar scale. Now just add B5 and Thirdspace and you have an instant campaign.

Bry - nice job! :D The book was a good read with some interesting (and disturbing) ideas

That's all really good news! Now I'm extra glad I ordered it.

I'm already running a CoC game set in B5...CoC really is my game and I have a hard time NOT running a CoC game no matter what the system or setting it. However, having some new forbidden knowledge for Cornerstone, IPX and Psi Corp to mess with certainly can't hurt. I can't wait for that thing to show up on my doorstep.

I wander what happened to Loriren's ship after he left for the Rim as an energy ball.

Well Darkness and Light says Lorien's race used organic starships so perhaps it followed him? I mean Koshs ship sent itself into the sun after Kosh was supposedly killed so perhaps Lorien's ship followed him?

And damn... im going away for a while so can't order this book now :( bah and this is after I saw the awesome preview of it on the Mongoose website. *sigh* If its anything like the Legends of the Rangers factbook then it will be awesome. I vote Bry doing some books on some more of the Ancients :D maybe perhaps those Xu-Ha mentioned in the Darkness and Light book

Just watched Thirdspace this weekend (again), beauty movie!

Looking forward to seeing the Thirdspace book, but it's only a 100 pages? For $28 dollars? Yikes! That'll be one thin hardcover.

OK, why are the soul hunters and apocalypse boxes in the Thirdspace book? What's the connection, what'd I miss?

Soul Hunters were created by the Mindriders in an attempt to save Loren's race.

Apocalypse boxes, thier planets sun was messed around by the Shadows by opening jump points in it, some of the races essance was placed in boxes and shot off into space when the planet died.

see Darkness and Light for the full story.

There is a chapter that contains several other mistakes and plot points made by the Ancients. That is why the Soul Hunters and Apocalypse Boxes appear. The Thirdspace book would have been rather short if it only contained stuff on the Harbingers and the telemovie. :)
