Third Imperium Fluff?

Hmm, in the wishful thinking and dreaming department:

What sections of information would one want to see in a 3I source book?

One book or a series of books on the 3I?

I would like to see a book with the general overview of all known 3I details, with a book series going into more detail.

Ie. Book 1 of the series could be politics and nobility
Book 2 ships of the line, navies and Restricted worlds
Book 3 History of the 3I and the current movers and shakers of 3I
etc

Not books like the LBB or other supplements
But books that sololy do detail and background on the 3I.

No set adventures but each could have some GM helpful section on hooks and plots.

Just a basic concept in my mind.

meh...I have no desire to buy an encylcopedia set for the Third Imperium.

I'd rather see a largish hardback with the overview, and the rest can be fleshed out as an interactive CD-ROM.

I would love to see htis done in a big glossy hardback :D 8)

I might not be able to buy willy nilly but I would darn well buy that
(or get it put on the Christmas list at least :D)

It would really be something

I'd love a hardback on the OTU as well, but I really don't want the 3I defined down to the last detail. I agree that it works best when left simple and open for the GM's own ideas and perspectives.

Personally, I'd love a historical overview, maybe with 4 eras sketched and mapped out for gaming purposes: Interstellar Wars (2200-2400 AD), The Early Imperium (25-100), The Classic Imperium (1105) and maybe the post Virus Era (1248). Maybe include some simple mods to the chargen and tech to reflect the era's specifics, but nothing huge -- it's all still the OTU, right?

Or something like that. Hey, I can ask ...

I would like to buck the trend...and ask for a sourcebook that would describe the Imperium down to the microscopic level - let it be the final word of the Third Imperium of Mankind. A fitting tribute to the game that is 40yrs old (almost). Also, once it is published there is bound to be holes and those holes might take another 40yrs to fill...so getting us back to square one. If MJD could get willing helpers in the form of LKW, Hans

HOWEVER, what would NOT like to see is another compilation of Library Data whether in the form of a supplement or Imperial Encyclopedia.
