[Third Imperium] Droyne and their stats

Another thing that has me confused of this game, ever since CT-Era is the Droyne stats:
Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, Intelligence, Sense and Caste

The first four is totally understandable, but I never understood why they do not have Education and why they exchange that for Sense, when really Sense should replace Psionic Strength instead of Education.

Is Caste fixed on a different value regarding to what Caste/subcaste you belong to or is it your place within your caste?

If I make a technican, does that have a fixed value for being of that caste, or can I have a caste 12 technician, which means that I have more status than any other technican, but only to them? Or does Caste shows how well liked I am in my kyorloss?

If I remember correctly:

Caste is just which caste the droyne belongs to. So no "Caste 12 Technician".

Droyne don't have "Education" per se. Each caste knows its business as well as anyone else in that caste, and knows very little outside of that, aside from Droyne cultural memes.

In the main book, page 5 it says: "Education [stat/characteristic] is a measure of a character's learning and experience." Does this mean that Droyne are unwilling to lear new things and that they do not use their experience they gain throughout life to aid them? So istead of fixing a jumpdrive with a education+engineering (jumpspace) roll, they use caste as that is what a technician should do?

In the main book, page 44, it says: Droyne replace Social Standing with caste, which is generated on 1D6. Does this mean that a worker can get higher caste rating than a leader with a lucky roll?

On page 55 of the main book, it says that "Performing a systems check on a Battledress: Education, 1-6 min, Average (+0)" What stats should a Droyne warrior/technician/sport use instead?

Ok, I went back to "Twilight's Peak", which gives the rules for Droyne characters.

Here's how I think it works. I might be wrong.

Caste is not really a "Stat" in the same way that Strength, etc. are stats. It's more of an attribute that says what type of Droyne the character is. Once you generate caste, it's yours. All Drones are 3, and all 3's are Drones, if you follow me.

Sense stands in for the missing stats (Edu, Soc) as they relate to the caste's function. So a Leader could use Sense for a skill that was modifed by Soc, a Technician could use Sense for Edu skills, etc. But I wouldn't let a Drone use Sense to attempt to lead someone or repair something; Drone's don't do that.

I think of them as "Idiot Savants", where their area of brilliance is their caste.

If the Droyne had battledress skill, they'd use Sense. Otherwise, they would be incapable of performing the system check at all. Looking at the table, I don't see anyone with Battledress skill, so I might say that a Warrior could perform the check using Sense and "Level 0" skill (they're warriors, they just instinctively know how to use this stuff) but would not know how to repair any problems that show up. A Technician could run diagnostics and perform the repairs (Mechanics + Sense or Int).
