The Gangs:
Team Turtle (Rep 40) vs The Wild Bunch (Rep 7)
Team Turtle (Played by Tracey): Turtle, Scope, Carla, Billy-Bob, Fast Eddie, Nick, Purdy, Jenna
The Wild Bunch (Played by Steve): Sparky, Annie, Daisy, Cheggers, Tiny Tim. Wulf and Seymore have been taken hostage, Sam and UT are out with an injuries.
Scenario: Hostage Rescue
Things are looking real bad for The Wild Bunch. Two of the more experienced Punks are out of the fight due to serious body injuries, two more are being held hostage, and the new recruits are not likely to be much use. Still, they are determined not to call in the Judges while they still have a chance, however small! Until UT and Sam recover from their wounds, they have no chance in a straight forward Turf War.
However, attempting a Hostage Rescue will force the defenders to set up first, so they might be able to attack at a weak point, and maybe do enough damage to scare the rest off. Actually rescuing any hostages is rather unlikely, but would be a nice bonus.
Location
The hostages are being held in disused subway station on the border between a business district and an industrial district.
Deployment: Team Turtle
Team Turtle take up positions well spread out, so that the Wild Bunch have to approach from one side of the board, over some difficult ground.
Deployment: The Wild Bunch
Sparky, Annie and Daisy enter from the rail tracks, under cover of the buildings. The green Juves are sent away down the far side beside the crashed rail car. They don't expect to do anything, but might be useful as a distraction if Sparky and the girls get pinned down. Plus they will hopefully stop Team Turtle from just mobbing Sparky with everyone they have.
The Game
Sparky, Annie and Daisy move up towards the ruined building, keeping carefully out of sight. Team Turtle (almost all of whom can activate due to the many Lieutenants and improved leadership traits) move up towards good protected positions to cover the difficult ground that they know the Wild Bunch must cross.
Daisy moves up against the ruined building, and peeks over the wall. Fast Eddie takes his Alert shot with his Double Barrelled Stump gun, which harmless hits the masonry. Annie returns fire, missing wildly. Daisy follows Annie's lead, moving up and taking a wild shot at Fast Eddie, which also misses. Sparky decides to show them how its done - after taking cover his Stump Gun takes Eddie out of the fight with a Minor injury.
Team Turtle are not fazed by this, and start moving up en-mass. Scope takes a long range shot at Annie, who is lucky to receive just a scratch. Jenna makes a good shot, but the cover of the wall saves Annie from further injury.
The Wild Bunch stay in their protected position, and Sparky and Daisy blast away (Annie is still too stunned by her recent lucky escape to join in). When the smoke clears, Jenna is down with a minor wound.
Turtle himself now steps up, wielding his fearsome Spit Gun. The hail of shells is impressive, and one manages to connect, taking Daisy out of the fight with a minor injury. Scope and Purdy's careful shots fail to find a mark. The other members of Team Turtle edge forward carefully, picking their way slowly over the rubble.
Undaunted by Daisy being taken out of the fight, Sparky and Annie continue their Stump Gun barrage, and Sparky hits Purdy with both barrels, killing her outright.
Now Turtle is in position, and is able to concentrate fully on shooting. Annie is hit, counting herself lucky to only sustain a minor wound. Sparky decides that facing that much fire-power alone is suicide, and makes a run for it. The two remaining Juves follow his example, and quietly slink away.
Afterwards
The Wild Bunch would have been fairly happy with the result of this battle (no permanent injuries, and one of Team Turtle dead), if Annie hadn't then got herself taken hostage (groan!).
After collecting income, and finding that Team Turtle were only 500 creds short of getting another Spit Gun, they ruthlessly decided to execute Annie to free up a Juve to get the extra credits from working the Shopping mall. Also, almost everyone on Team Turtle managed to gain a Trait, and they all went for Improved Agility.
The game took about 1 hour, not including terrain set up and post battle buying and trait selection.
