The Traveller OGL and SRD Questions

OK, the MgT2beta is out and in playtest, and the book itself will be out in March.

Does the Traveller OGL still apply to MgT? Will there be a different OGL for MgT2?

Will the MgT SRD be removed? Will there be a MgT2 SRD coming out? If an MgT2 SRD is coming out, when will that be?

If a third party publisher decides to create Mongoose Traveller material, does that material have to be for MgT2 or can it be for the previous MgT original version?

but the short of it is that we have had several of the 3rd party publishers on board for the internal playtesting already, with the intention of putting together a comprehensive Logo Licence for the new Traveller.

We don't yet know if MGT2e will be OGL or some other license. But Matt says there will be some time of license for it and I don't have a reason to doubt him.

Mongoose can choose to take the MGT1e SRD down, but if you download it before that happens, then you can use it forever. When will MGT2e SRD (if there will be one) come out, only Matt can answer that.

The OGL is forever, so if you want to create material for MGT1e, no one can stop you. You might not be able to use the MGT1e Logo license; that is up to Mongoose and I have not yet heard that that one is ending. Having said that, I would not be surprised if that ends when MGT2e is released.
