the target trait....

hey guys and girls,

I just have a question about the target trait for space stations. I just want to make sure I have this right.

example: I am playing in a campaign game against an EA player with an orion space station. the orion has targets 3. and 3 weapons systems. this means that it can pick 3 targets within range and split its fire only between these targets ? or 3 targets per weapon ? or (as some have come to interpret the rule) they get each weapon system at full strength 3 times. so effectively the orion would have:

HPC: range: 24 arc: - AD: 24 special: twin-linked

I just want to make sure I dont get hosed as I am already down 2 battle points in the game.

thanks

A space station may direct all of its listed weapons at a number of ships equal to its target trait. The Orion can fire each of its three weapon systems at three targets.

It can't split fire. If it was being attacked by four ships, it could only hit three of them. If it was being attacked by two ships, it could only fire at each one with the three weapons.

I hope that's cleared it up.

so the station has its full attack dice for all three weapons systems against three targets. basically it gets three times the ammount of attack dice but can only allocate a specific weapon system against any given ship once ?

Correct.

You take each of three targets and they can each be fired upon with the full Attack Dice of every weapon system listed for the Station.

What about slow loading weapons though?

You can still fire it at x targets, and it still only takes one round to reload right?

if it's reloading, it's reloading - there aren't 3 seperate weapons systems with the same traits, it just has the capacity to fire at 3 targets if it has the chance to.

By the way - is the Norgrath Starbase's Neutron Laser supposed to be a mini-beam not a beam?
