The RQ SRD Deluxe and changes?

This was written a couple of years ago now, are there any significant changes introduced in later books that are notable?

There was something about magic and pacts in Guilds, Factions and Cults (not sure if that was open content), anything else? Combat perhaps? :D

Caution, please, Jarulf. Guilds, Factions and Cults contains no Open Game Content. Explicit permission from Mongoose is needed to make its contents available on the Internet. Only modifications included in the Player's Update can be included in the Luxury SRD.

No need to caution me :) I simply wanted to know if the rules as presented in the Deluxe SRD have changed since. Or put another way, if the open content rules have changed since.

I'm not writing anything, but thanks for the heads up anyway.

They are pretty close to standard MRQ. You will have to get your chrome elsewhere.

If I had it to do it over and was interested in playing MRQ in Glorantha I would use the SRD

Then I would buy both Cult Books and the new book for Guilds, Factions and Cults.

If I wanted to play second age Glorantha then any of the other background books would be great but I would pick and choose based on my needs.

If I was going to GM I would buy the GM handbook and I would consider the Weapons and Equipment book. These are simply good resources though there is nothing in them a good GM couldn't think up in a pinch with a little common sense.

However, this is from someone who has around 80% of everything that has ever been published for Glorantha.

Thanks for the answer, but I really seem to be unable to express myself clearly. Or understand answers properly. I'm not being intentionally obtuse :(

Are there any Open Content rules for MRQ that were not included in the Deluxe SRD pdf Dirk Dankwart compiled, such as changed rules, or additions from later book?
I simply ask because the PDF hasn't been updated in a while and there has been a lot of books published since.

Not as far as I know.

There are some supplements from non-Mongoose publishers that contain Open game Content that have not been included in the Mongoose SRD or Deluxe SRD.

The core RQ supplements appear not to have any Open Game Content. This means that they are not available unless Mongoose put some of the contents in an SRD.

They have put some extra Traveller information in SRDs, so there may be some hope that RQ material might follow.

If there were any changes in the official srd's or if mongoose would release additional srd's, I would certainly update the Luxury SRD. The last time they didn't announce any changes, but someone was kind enough to inform me that something was missing in my version. So, if anyone knows of updates or missing content, send me an email (address in pdf).

A collection of Open Content from 3rd party publishers would be a nice project, but it wouldn't belong in the srd imo. I wouldn't mind creating the pdf if someone has a collection and is sure that there aren't any legal problems with the publishers. Extracting open content from books without an srd is a little complicated if you have no experience with the legal side of things. I don't use 3rd party rules (only background stuff) and don't know what's out there (except the stuff in the wiki and 1 or 2 articles in the S&P), but an overview would be interesting. If you mention/link the publishers and products in the pdf, it could be interesting for some publishers, too.

For interest's sake, we've tried to label clearly everything in our products that is OGC and added a fair bit of it to the wiki, too. Using that material is no problem providing the relevant trailing/acknowledgements clause in the OGL is copied correctly.

Thanks everyone. The two rules I heard had changed were combat and the thing with divine magic and pacts. I know the new magic rules aren't in the SRD, as they aren't OGC if I understand things right. So I thought there might be other things.

And Dirk, thanks for the PDF, it has been very useful.
