On the topic of The Rim: is this book actually going on sale this week? I preordered it several months ago, I'm looking forward to finally getting my hands on it. Do we have any word on whether the site's date is an accurate one this time?

I emailed and asked and was told a) US orders haven't even shipped yet (let alone being available in stores on the release date) and therefore b) my order hasn't shipped yet either. Why you all have yours thanks to preorders and my preorder hasn't helped at all confuses me, but I guess these things happen around here...

Yeah...I was really impressed by that promise. Now...less so. At this point I'll be mildly surprised if I get the books at all without having to cancel my "pre"order and placing an order elsewhere. I wish local stores carried B5 books, that would make all this a lot easier.

Now, as for the pre-orders copies. Quite a few did go out, some we held back, either because of quality concerns, or because the book itself was being re-jigged (Freedom Station, for example, has had more material added).
The pre-orders are still a priority and, if you have been waiting a while, you will be getting them before anyone else. However, you will be getting them when they are good to go, not halfway there!

So the books aren't on sale yet after all? I was just going by what the site says, and it says they're out to retailers. Which accounts for my confusion on that point.
We have had a few issues to deal with in terms of distribution and printing over the past few weeks - nothing huge, but all the little things can add up.

Eh, this isn't going to go anywhere productive. Let's just accept that they don't have their stuff together and leave it at that. I don't want to stir up trouble, I was just trying to figure out how far off the mark the dates I was told (and the ones currently up on the site, not to mention the promises for early books by way of apology) are. The answer is very far off. I'll let it go at that. They took my money, so sooner or later I'll get the books I ordered. *shrug*

So when will this book be available in the States? I know it hasn't even materialized for my FLGS at this time. Any word would be helpful!
The Rim? Just about to set a release date for it, actually! You'll see it on the web site a little later today. I _can_ say pak'ma'ra, Freedom Station and maybe Legend of the Rangers will come first, but they will all be quite close together.

Actually Matt, I don't see any changes on the release date of the Rim. It says it's out, but I know from talking to several FLGS it's not available as of last week. I'll be checking later on today with them to see if it's going to arrive this week.
