I am looking at the pricing in US dollars, for the MagnaKai megadeal.
For the individual books
Book 1-4 19.95ea=79.8 total
Book 5-10 21.95ea=131.7 total
Book 11-12 21.95ea (assumed)=43.9 total
Extra books 21.95ea=43.9 total
Total cost 299,3 when buying the books individually.
When using the Magnakai megadeal the cost for the same books are 240.
Ok, this is a saving of 59,3 when using the megadeal. Heres the problem. The wording on the offer page says:
"* You will receive Collector's Editions of the new Dragons of Lencia and Glory & Greed novels, absolutely free.
* You will also receive Volume 12, absolutely free."
But if I recceive three books "for free" (value of 3x21.95=65.85), then the cost for the other books are 233.45 when buying the books individually as opposed to 240 when using the deal. Seen in this light the deal is in fact 6,55 dollars more expensive than buying the books individually.
I have no problem with the deal as offered. It is the wording "absolutely free" that disturbs me when I read the offer, since the total saving is in fact less than the values of these three books. Legally it could be argued that I am in fact paying 6,55 for these three, which is not "absolutely free". Or am I missing something?
