Planet Mongoose, as always, has the scoop - you can read what is coming for the Deus Vult setting at;

It's good to see that Deus Vult has a future - for a while there, I was afraid that we wouldn't see anything new for that line when the MRQII version dropped out of print. It's a setting with a lot of potential. There's not much historical fantasy on the market at the moment, with the obvious exception of Ars Magica. I really hope that you have some success with this line.

So do we :)

It is a personal favourite of mine and, one way or another, we'll keep it around. Very tempting to bump development of the Witch-Hunter's Training Guide up the schedule :) The Inquisitor's version requires a bit more thought on how they relate to the setting, I think, so they will likely show up sometime after.

We'll also be pulling all the bits published for Deus Vult in S&P together, brushing them up, and re-releasing them - veterans of the setting won't need to grab them a second time, but it would be nice to keep everything in one place and have (what little) needs updating to the Legend system done.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, we have not forgotten about Wraith Recon either. That requires a bit more alteration of the setting and we want to get more done for Deus Vult first, but it is certainly on the cards.

Can't wait to see what's all going to come out for this line. I've been waiting for awhile just to get Deus Vult adapted to Legend and now to see what's all in store ... well I'm excited. Hopefully it all comes sooner than later!

I've never really paid much mind to this setting, not because it was unappealing, but simply because I was invested in other settings.

So, form the outside, it looks like a kind of blend of Cadfael, Assassins Creed, The Name of the Rose, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Is this a reasonable assessment? And how magic-y and supernatural-y is it? Does it qualify as (Dark Ages) S&S?

It casts the characters as secret agents of the Catholic Church, defending humanity against supernatural threats. I'd describe it as a cross between Brother Cadfael and the X-Files ;)

It's a good atmospheric setting, but very tightly scoped. For example, you couldn't use it for a general medieval campaign, but you could use it for a group of warrior-monks or wizard-monks fighting demonic/heretical/evil opponents.

It would fit in well with Merrie England, Stupor Mundi, Crusaders of the Amber Coast or Val-de-Loupe, to give an extra dimension to a medieval setting.

As for Dark Ages S&S, it isn't really Dark Ages at all, but might work for certain types of S&S.
