i guess i missed it

MSprange at Planet Mongoose statement said:
(...)Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat, which will be the successor to the current BF Evo, with the updated rules tweaks, plus full army lists allowing you to use your existing models, plus the huge multitude available from model kit and collectible manufacturers.(....)

Pretty much indicates it: Use what you already have, buy someone elses stuff to continue with the game. Which is uncommon from a producer's point of view to recommend other people's models. But it is cool on the other hand, as Mr Sprange says: Mongoose is a game-company in the first place.

ah okies..

but ofcourse that dont mean doom is near does it?
so long as somthing comes out ofcourse

and nothing like say warzone or somthing like that

No. Doom is far away: Like the statement says, they go on with BF Evo. They also release some other time settings (WorldWar2) and consider doing a skirmish version with deeper detail ruleswise. Maybe the pre-paints for low price will be available one day, but they sure aren't around the corner any time soon.
At least they release something :D Looking forward...

Eisho definately has a point. You see the same with Warzone: sure there was still a massive line available but really, people stopped playing without new releases. Now only a small minority of die hards play the game.

I think Matt has it very right when he says that MGP is a gaming company, not a miniatures company. Very few people dislike the rules, on the other hand the quality of miniatures has varied from good to atrocious.

Thats why the focus is back to making new rule books for now.
With luck, sometime in the future Mongoose might re-try the whole pre-painted.
For now and for the foreseeable future, its proxy time :D

Out of curiosity, what do you recommend we proxy with? Sure, there is plenty of modern stuff available, but not near-future stuff. This is why I really want Mongoose to continue producing minis for the game, even if they aren't prepainted.

I want my EFV and Talon/SWORD, gosh-darnit! :D

For those who follow this topic in here more than in the 'future rulebook' thread:

Again I ask what you guys would think about a book that follows the example what Forgeworld did for 40k:

A book that is based on a conflict. Might be a local one with only two factions or a bigger with more countries.
In this book a full background to the conflict is given. In addition, maps and rules for scenarios to fight the 'historical events' of this conflict.
Scenary would be build to show some nice terrain sets for the battlereport pictures. This 'how to build this and that' could be part of a hobby section in the book.
Last but not least and maybe most important: The full army list of all gear that was used in the conflict (unit cards).
The first pages could as well tweak some rules or even add more detail to the existing ones.

PROMOTE THAT MAN! :D

very cool idea... hell ill even help write the damn fluff for it...

I would like to hear Mr Sprange's opinion to the idea above. And yours too, guys.

How about going a bit further in the future and do a Cthulhutech miniatures game!

Also, a Hammers Slammers era mini game would suit me just dandy!

oks here we go..

I accept the issues that mongoose has with the prepaints as they are.

I would love to see more settings for this ruleset the needed rules tweaks "offically" noted and reconized.

understand that i have been with this product since the beginning i have created some players in my area there concerns where as it turns out justified.(lack of production of new models) (months long hiccups with production even before the theoritical wave 4)

i got one of the stores (friends) in my area to buy into this product fairly heavly

so here i am holding the bag. i still love the game i still have one player left that loves this game but no new product has made it hard for me to get new intrest.

now i am planning on buying the remaining (dead) models from little wars also their remaining starship troopers models (they got into due to my enthusiasm) so as to save face.

And I wonder if they will listen to me, or buy into anything mongoose again. (it is felt that i have an killing touch for miniatures games) aside from ACTA (which they carry the books for but no models) and the Victory at sea book (no Order of Battle) they will have no mongoose product left.

if it makes any diffrence the product AT-43 is sitting on the shelfs there too...

Point is i agree with an lot of people here. new "offical" unit cards that i can find proxys for is great. things like infantry and new tech vehicles we *need* models for. in consistant scale.

on scale....
one of my best friends (admittedly an bit of an putz) lost intrest when he found the challenger tank scaled the same as the forces of valor challenger which scaled the same as the dragon models challenger(ie. 1/72). but my abrams is diffenately 1/64 as are all of the infantry and shadows. that inconsistant scaleing caused him to step back. and it gave me pause. (i got over it.) YAY cheap challengers... as well as warriors...
being the same length and width as 1/72 warriors. jack up the road wheels an bit and off we go... end mini rant...

so here i am looking at buying eurika minis (the us store never seems to update there inventory) and painting for my enthusiastic friend (he can't paint) buying up an stores dead product for my reputation and hopeing there will be no more fiascos...

so um ya throw me an bone here.... i am doing what i can to help... and will prolly continue to support the best miniatures ruleset that i have seen since warmachine...

man, it will be long time I enjoy modern combats..... if 5th edition of 40k hits first, I'll go to them first. But I still wait for new BF Evo (it's because I love modern 'esque battles which in 1st place I like 40k!).

Hey BTW, is sergeant scream 'spec ops' goes to the new rulebook?

if it found interest at all it for sure won't be with Cod4, because of copyright issues.

Anyone here a decent enough artist to change the images? swapping the the names of characters would be about the only other reference.

I can do that. But I do not know if people actually like the idea or if they have some ideas what I could have done better. A little feedback would be nice.

well i for one have looked em over and hope to playtest soon sadly i do not own either the SAS or the marine force recon models so ill have to use standerd troops for those roles. :|

however i can say is i like what you have as an base and think it will work quite well.
also my buddy that plays will love it i ment to show him last night but i was too sick to make "coffee night"

some feedback for you i know how difficult it can be to work hard on something and get no response...
