The Baileoisin Chronicles(wish list)

I know it's early yet but somethings I hope are in this book is a map of the village(doesn't have to be extreemly detailed, I like to add things), diagrams of the main buildings and maps and descriptions of some of the surrounding country. I am also hoping that there is some simple story seeds included that don't have anything to do with the adventure included. In short I am hoping that this is a combination adventure/sourcebook (similair to the old Pavis and Sun County supplements by Chaosium and Avalon Hill)that will be able to set other adventures in and around and be usable through out my Slaine campaign. Setting specific rituals, holidays, reusable strange sites/locations, reusable NPC's ,etc.. would be nice as well. Any chance some of this might be in the book?

Well there will be a description of the place, the important inhabitants, a map of the village, plus a larger scale area map. Some of the history of the place will be detailed. Whilst the adventures are tied to one another to a degree they can stand alone with little work as well.

There will be a local hero-cult detailed - that of Oisin himself - not THAT Oisin by the way, for fans of real world Celtic mythology (I plan on creating a specific cults book for Slaine one the Baileoisin is completed - the book only mentions the various gods as per the OGL version and also limits spells according to tribe and god. A Cults book will expand on this significantly and include a wider range of Tir Nan Og gods, drawing from various mythologies that are relevant to the setting).

Overall I already had planned out (along with the writer, who's creation Baileoisin is) most of what you want anyway. I will see what I can do about some of the other bits and pieces...

I have my own plans for Slaine, and hopefully it will keep me busy in my spare time (this is mostly a personal project) for the next few years (yes, I really do have plans for Slaine)...

and they all sound great 8) it will be nice to see a non-2000AD RQ slant with a celtic feel and years of sourcebooks etc dosent sound like a hardship to me :D

Just out of curiousity, is Baileoisin is based on real place in the Bristish Isles and Ireland?

Nope (I think) although it would be somewhere in East Anglia in England today (more or less).

Mongoose Acolyte,
Thanks. I was hoping most of that was in there. I like the idea of a cults book and am really excited for both books Baileoisin and the cults book and am looking forward to future Slaine releases. Glad to hear it will be supported beyond the Baileoisin campaign book! Hopefully an El worlds and/or wierd places(where El worlds cross into the Slaine world meet) book is planned as well. Keep up the good work.
PS. with everything that's been mentioned so far sounds like RQ Slaine and the line is the game(RQ celtic that details cults, tribe life etc...) I have been looking for for a very long time-since the 80's.

I have tried them all including gurps etc and for celtic feel nothing is close too slaine 8) its the grim humour and bugger it we will all be dead tommorrow so lets make every day count that makes it for me that and the tonnes of source material from the progs themselves(2000AD comic)

could we have pictures of the main people of the village please and plans of nearby henges and places of intreast I just love maps and the more detail the better 8)

I would like to see the maps of nearby places as well. The more maps and diagrams of buildings the happier I would be. They don't have to be big.

I was half way through watching this documentry on the Celts on You-Tube when they described Celtic Hill-Fort at 2:20.

I thought this might be what a few of you were looking for, with regards to how Celtic villages were set out.

There seems to be a series of these documentries covering Celtic life uploaded here.

Pershaps, I shoud just say go out and buy the video or DVD. Though it's proabbly no longer available.
