After doing some very basic research looking into what the RAN (Royal Australian Navy) had during WWII, I decided to have a bit of fun and probably sign my fleets death warrant, by putting together RAN fleet from the RN list.
I might be slightly dumb for doing this but I suppose I like a challenge, (and then wonder why I keep on losing
)
So far I have 3 Colossus class carriers ready - HMAS Newcastle, HMAS Melbourne and HMAS Success. I know that the RAN didn't operate this type of ship during the war but there were plans to loan or gift them one carrier of this class, so I included it on my list.
Next I will be working on the Perth class cruisers - HMAS Sydeny, HMAS Perth, HMAS Hobart and HMAS Hammersley. (Anyone who searches for HMAS Hammersley will find where I got the idea for this little challenge)
On a bit of a side note I'm thinking of researching what the RNZN (Royal New Zealand Navy) had and making it more of Anzac fleet rather than just an Australian one. This idea is still just an idea at the moment.
Any comments on my idea will be welcome
