The Chef, I have always assumed that air/rafts on military, scout, scientific and adventuring starships would have enclosed, sealable starships for those times when they are on hostile worlds.

i have never really understood the concept of the air/raft. unless its primary use is for cargo transport on world why is it open topped?

So it is easier for Vargr to stick their heads out.
