A brief note: Over the last decade or so, I'd occasionally post to the Traveller Mailing List links to articles that seemed to me to be Traveller tech coming to fruition in the real world. Hence the title preface "Technology Marches On..." Since I dropped from the TML some years ago, I thought I'd very occasionally do the same on Mongoose's Traveller forum since some of us enjoy making Traveller a bit more hard science than space opera.
And it does add some verisimilitude (word for the day) to some of the in-game McGuffins when players say "how can it do that?" and the GM actually has an answer.
