Do three technicals chosen as a single support choice count as a unit?

For example, if one is shot at, can all three react?

If they are a unit, does one have to act as the unit leader? What happens if that one is killed?
 
Each technical counts as a seperate unit at a cost of 50 points each. You can take 3 per transport slot in your army, ut they still count as seperate units.
 
OK, that doesn't thrill me since it will be harder to suppress a unit with only one technical firing in a shoot action.

So does that also mean that if I have an infantry unit of 12, I can't mount them up because a technical can hold a max of 8?
 
Take a look at the Tech. card under PKM MG. I can suppress a unit of up to six enemy models. Remember even misses count for suppression (with the exception of natural 1s).

If you have a group of 12 MEA, you just use two Technicals to load them up. Remember the models loaded do not count as being on the table, so there is no Command control for them until they offload. Just remember to offload the Tech with the Leader model in it first. Then offload the other anytime you like in the game within the 6" of the leader or suffer the penality.
 
Old Soldier, thanks. I understand the the PCM MG counts as 6 for suppression (assuming no 1s). However, I'm going against units that average 6 - 10 models. That's why it is harder for them to now suppress. I have to kill 2 -4 before getting a chance to suppress that unit. Not impossible, but again not as easy as it was.

As far as the transports, I just didn't know if a unit could load into multiple technicals if each was considered a separate unit. Other games require a unit to load into a single transport so if there is more than what can fit, then the unit can't ride.

Suppressing units should require a fair amount of fire power, otherwise it would become far to powerfull. Anyway just look for squads split down into fire teams.
