Tarn Riders of Gor (or, Aerial Combat for Beginners)

Had a weekend discussion with my group about what facility a rules system would most need to support in a Gor campaign. Very solid agreement that Mounted Aerial Combat would be tops on the list.

It seems that little effort would be required to port the BRP Aerial Combat rules to Legend. But I thought I'd cheek the boards, see if anyone here had some entertaining alternate rules they preferred? Rules with a more tactical mindset? Would you use the riders Ride Skill or the tarn's Fly Skill, perhaps both?

*Tarns are large hawk-like birds that can support a rider. They are used for transportation, racing and flown in combat.

I would suggest using both.

E.g. The Tarn and rider are subject to a missile attack. If its not obvious both rider and mount make Perception Tests.
  • Both fail - no evasive action
Tarn passes Rider fails, Tarn uses its Fly or Evade skill whichever is higher, Rider makes a Ride check to remain in the saddle or be able to take offensive action on his next turn.
Rider passes Tarn Fails, Rider makes a Ride check on a pass roll the Fly/Evade skill, on a fail no evasive action
Both pass use the Fly/Evade skill, the Tarn loses attack on next CA rider doesn't

Something like that.

LOL And then everyone goes home to their collared slave women?

Let's not forget the collared slave men! Half my group will be comprised of women playing free women characters.

Seriously, the kajira/kajirus silk slaves will probably not be taking the level of import must people unfamiliar with the setting believe it does. We're mostly focused on the high adventure Science/Fantasy here.

I mean, who really wants sit around a table pretending to have BDSM sessions. Not when I have a perfectly good dungeon in the next room!
