Target, Kill, and lack of Armor

Forgive me if this has already been asked.

I was running a demo ealier this week and we had a question come up about infantry that does not have an armor save score. Does this mean they are killed just by hitting the target score?

yup

sucks huh

maybe their be weapons in the future though that give you +1 save or campain rules that give units a save from exsperiance

+1 to nothing is still nothing...Unless there's specific mention that units without save get save of 6+.

Better take advantage of cover :-)

They mentioned that there were other types of cover than the ones in the basic rules, also there could be other actions units could take.

So who knows, maybe in the advanced rules there'll be some way to get an armor save.

The concept of weak weapons (those that add or give an armour save when there isn't one) has been trotted out before. If you look at the Mongoose mods yahoo group in the BF:Evo files the Russian Civil War Red army list has weak weapons on one variation, standard weapons on the other.

Did you fail maths Tneva? :P

0 + 1 = 1

Plus 1 to nothing is 1. 1 TIMES nothing is still nothing :P

not to the best of my memory

Re-read the rules sheet (not got it to hand) but it distincly says there will be more "advanced" rules concerning terrain and cover in the rule book, that said its pure speculation to say that that might give (or improve) armour saves. However then again there are already units coming out that do this in the SAS and the USMC recon force.

0 + 1 = 1

But is lack of armour number if datasheet 0 or nothing?

What if it it represents infinently high target number so adding +1 to your d6 doesn't allow save. You roll 6. Yea! You add +1 you get to your armour save. Damn. Still not infinently high you would have needed...

What makes you think no armour save means armour save is 7+ but it's not just mentioned?

Where you got the idea that getting +1 to your armour save would get armour save? You have to have armour before it can be improved...

not neceassrily. Armour save in wargames doesn not necessarily mean armour, its merely a chance for you to avoid taking damage. Furthermore I cannot think of any rule in any wargame that gives you a bonus to something that doesnt set you to the minimum possibly roll if you wouldnt get it at all anyway.

The point is moot anyway as I was merely joking about your 1+nothing is still nothing comment (how ever you want to try and argue it, 1 more than nothing is 1 ;))

The advanced rules for cover in the book are covering things like buildings and alternate ways of gaining an obscured bonus. Nothin in there modifies a model's save throw. Some models have ways of modifying their save throws, like the SAS and Force Recon.
