Emperor Mongoose
So there were MORE than 50 BILLION people on the planet before the collapse? It’s a desert planet with a thin atmosphere. It’s doubtful it could provide enough local food, so that means a lot of imports from nearby worlds just to survive. This is where sometimes Traveller gets a bit wonky. The population needs to be adjusted to a more realistic level. The exchange of lanthanum with the Imperium makes sense to non-MGT players because lanthanum was required for jump travel. In the CRB 1.0 that changed to hydrogen bubbles, so lanthanum no longer has any real relationship, thus it should be dropped as a reference point. Pick something else that has more relevance.

“Cheap one-shot jump drives”??? This is new tech and not possible under the old rules in any previous version. Is this something else covered in HG. If not it needs to be deleted. If the planet had cannibalism and everything else during the collapse, how did it grow back to be teeming with multiple billions again that now need to wait for the thousands of these miraculous one-shot colony ships.

The patron is listed as being over 2,000 years old and stays in a stasis field – again more tech that isn’t available. The premise to break in to ask the Emperor some questions is rather flimsy, and the reward is pretty tiny for all the potential risk. It would be better to have one faction try to hire the PC’s to ‘rescue’ the Emperor because they worship him or something, and the other group still wants him dead to cause a civil war.
