The basic SST Evo rules are the same as the basic BF Evo rules sheet so yes you could use them and the preview SST cards in S&P to start playing.

Basic tunnelling rules are on the back of the cards for the bugs that are able to tunnel ie: warriors and tankers

All special rules applicable for the unit should be on the back of their individual cards :D

more advanced tunneling and air unit rules will be included in the advanced rule book, which will cost money. Stats for our old SST units will be free from download once the game is released. (or 6 months later? Dunno)

Advanced tunneling? Hmmm... you know something we don't know Gauntlet?

Advanced tunneling is the added incentive that napalm raining down from the sky gives your Bugs into honing their tunneling skills quickly.

I wonder what bone's thrown to the Arachnids to make up for losing the ubber d6 system of tunneling?
It seems to me that the ballance of the game might change quite a bit if you played a couple of games with that system then switched to the original ones :?

Gotta find someone willing o use the new rules for a couple of bashes in my area...

This has been stated by msprange before. My link-fu is weak, but I posted the quote a week or so ago.

Well, I don't have a lot of play experience, but I understand that the rule of thumb is: MI rule the sky, Bugs rule underground. Basic Evo rules don't include aircraft, so the MI obviously can't rule the sky without the advanced rules. Might make sense that the Bugs aren't allowed to rule underground until then either.

Heck, I've got to win the lottery so I can have time to try out the old rules :? . At least when Evo comes out I won't need to set aside time for painting (or, as actually happens, delay playing the game because I don't want to paint...).
