Stats wanted - RN and Japanese destroyers and aircraft

New to Victory at Sea. I'm planning to fight a slightly alternative version of the sinking of Prince of Wales and Repulse; this will involve the presence of a surviving Hood, and with Admiral Holland in command slightly better air cover (leading to a naval battle, against the quite large Japanese fleet, before the air attack). I do expect the overall results to be quite similar to the historical ones, but the details will be used elsewhere.

For this purpose I'm looking on the RN side for stats for the E class destroyer (I've looked at http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=46002, but are the 8 torpedo tubes really only AD 4, same as a J/K/L or Tribal?), the V class (also found on that page), and the old S class from 1917; also the Brewster Buffalo.

On the Japanese side, I have most of what I need - but I'm still looking for the Asashio-class destroyer and the Mitsubishi G3M "Nell".

Some guidance as to the number of aircraft in a "flight" would also be useful; I have historical numbers... but comparing flights with carrier capacity gives me numbers anywhere between 4.5 and 8 aircraft.

All numbers and suggestions welcome. I'm probably going to be doing this on Sunday.

Try this it has some good files. You will find there are differnces in the amount of tubes on the different ship designs. Flights are listed on the exell sheet.

Thanks! That gives me the Nell and the Brewster Buffalo, though still not the numbers of actual aircraft per flight. I imagine I can busk some stats for the S class and the Asashio. Unless anyone else has suggestions...?

Take a carrier say Ark Royal and get a count on plane compliment then devide by flights this will give you your average. Im working on the others issues.

I think I've got some workable numbers by comparing similar classes and looking at weapon lists:

Admiralty S class: S7/Tn2/Ta6/A2, Damage 3/1, Crew 4/1; Agile; secondary 12/1/1/Weak, port torpedoes 10/2/4/AP+one-shot, starboard torpedoes ditto

Asashio: S7/Tn2/Ta6/A2, Damage 3/1, Crew 7/2; Agile; secondary 12/1/1/Weak; AA 5/2/-,-; P/S torpedoes 20/5/5/slow loading, super AP; Depth charges 3/2/2/slow loading.

If all goes well ill get you the stats before Monday.
Im looking to do some scenarios for the pacific with all the stats of any missing ships so you can play them.

The Asashio, Kagero, and Yugumo are functionally identical really. If you want to get nitpicky, the Asashio should have a Crew of 8/2, but I just count them as Kageros.

Other functionally identical classes:

Fubuki/Akatsuki
Shiratsuyu/Hatsuharu
Mutsu/Tachibana
Minikaze/Kamakaze (of which neither has stats at this point)

This battle went pretty badly for the British, but not as badly as the historical version.

Repulse was sunk by torpedoes and gunfire and Hood crippled, then finished off by the air attack. Prince of Wales was crippled, but limped away; she'll probably be in dry-dock for the best part of a year, if she isn't scuttled. Almost all the Japanese ships were sunk, and around 30 of the planes were shot down.

So the RN is going to be pretty condescending to the Americans about Pearl Harbor - after all, everyone knows aerial torpedoes can finish off damaged ships. But they are still learning the lesson about fighter escort being a Really Good Thing...

If there's interest in refighting this I'll put up the briefing notes somewhere.

Sound like you had a good time. Im working on more ship stats but having a little trouble with a couple of gun sizes.

Asashio: S7/Tn2/Ta6/A2, Damage 3/1, Crew8/3; Agile; secondary 15/2/1/Weak; AA 7/1/-,-; P/S torpedoes 20/4/5/slow loading, super AP; Depth charges 3/2/2/slow loading.
