On the point of Traveller tools. I am stilll looking for the Mongoose website to include a character generation simulation. I know they exist online, but if you are looking to put together a comprehensive list, it’s character generation, spaceship design, world design that are the fundamentals.

These cannot be underestimated. There’s a fabulous 4th Edition T2K character generator out there. And Star Trek Adventures would be an absolute slog without the online character generator. Same with Cypher.
Actually the STA one is best in class. You select which books and regions etc and it presents the options. One system and you could have chargen for Pioneer, 2300, Paranoia and Charted Space (I know people call it CS, but it will always be 3I to me)

I'm afraid I've been disappointed by every MgT char gen I've tried because most of them just do humans and maybe Vargr and Aslan and they have very few careers and don't support all the options.
Particularly disappointed in RPGSuite that get advertised in many Mongoose products. It does a few things well and the interface works ok, but options are limited and purchasing the race packs doesn't get the AoCS options for the most part, just badly drawn 3D images.
This would be so useful for creating NPCs etc. My only reservation is would session zero play out differently. For me that group dynamic sat around the table and bouncing ideas, laughing at peoples rolls and then seeing where the story might go with the characters slowly coming together is part of the fun. Would that still be the same with the generation tools instead of the pencil, paper and dice ?
To be clear i'm not against the idea i'm just cautious of how it might play out.
