I would like to see a Starcraft Miniatures game, with Lings, Hydras, Marines, medics, Zealots, etc.. With Starcraft 2 coming out they would probbly get some new units.

Starcraft is an RTS game made in 1998 with its expansion made in 1999, you should look it up if u want to know about it. Their are 3 races, Terrians(Humans), Zerg, and Protoss, each team had different units. unlike some games today none of the units where completely alike, A Hyradlisk(moderate speed, ranged) can kill 2 marines, but marines(moderate, ranged, can be upgraded with stim packs which make him run and shoot faster but take some of his health) could get range upgrade so the hydra wouldn't be in range to kill them, but most Zerg units can burrow(hide) so you would burrow it let it heal itself and then unburrow and attack, or you burrow a group of Hydras and then send a Zergling(fast, melee) or 2 in and drag the marines into a trap, but the Terrian player might have used a scanner and seen your burrowed units and set up Seige Tanks(Tanks that can deploy into Artillery) and wait for them to unburrow and blow them up. you get the idea, no 2 different units units are alike. I know, I talk too much. I have the game and its expansion, and going to freak out because they made a Starcraft 2   :D :D

I might want it, but I'm not sure Mongoose should make it. It competes pretty directly with Starship Troopers, and Fantasy Flight is already coming out with a Starcraft board game that will complicate any licenses. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of licensing anyway...

It will probably never happen since one company has the warcraft license for an RPG, and WoTC is rumoured to be developing a collectible warcraft minis game, which does not put starcraft out of the picture.

The Starcraft miniature game is coming out in August from Fantasy Flight Games. They are used to doing very large boxed games with 100s of models in them, just take a look at Tide of Iron :D

Pity that Mongoose didnt get the rights to the game though as with Starcraft 2 due out very shortly and the long awaited Starcraft Ghost also due out, it would have been nice and has long been on my wishlist of most wanted rpgs/miniature games

I'd really like to see how the resources mechanic would work ^^.

Terran Commander: "Okay, first things first! Time to build the reactor!"

...3 Rounds Later...

Terran Pion #1: *leaning on construction power suit* So my wife got home with the baby the other day and I says, 'Ya know what a woman's supposed to do when she gets home from that sorta thing right?' well she says 'no' so I tells her, 'Get in the kitchen and make me some ***damn waffles ya stupid broad!"

Terran Pion #2: "Ey.. dat's a good un, Eddie, but ya know I gots da feelin we wuz 'sposed to be doin somethin..."

Terran Pion #1: "Nah. Besides, regulations says we get a mandatory five hour break and ya know I'm not one to rock da boat when it comes to regulations if ya catch my drift?"

Terran Commander: *looks through binoculars at the million zurg babies approaching from a distance* "Damn these union labor minis... I knew I shoulda saved n' gone with the more expensive contractor models but nooOOOooo!"

Resources and that stuff, though parts of a RTS, would not work in a miniature game, but maybe a board game. Then again, I would like to see this turn into a proper miniature game as an expansion from the board game, much like the relationship between space hulk and warhamer 40k.

I really would like to see this as a proper wargame, but I will be getting the board game.

One can only hope and send email after email to the company.

The Lab, by now defunct Cell Entertainment (?), tried adding resource management to a minis game. And Rocketmen had some resource management as well. Not a big deal, but it lets you choose between fight and grow strategies.

Well, maybe if it was a pre game army selection thing akin to prioirty levels in starship troopers then it would work. Never heard of this cell entertainment.

It sounds cool, I will be buying the board game, but as a miniatures game, I do not think mongoose will do it, as they already have starship troopers, and the two franchises are similar. Galaxy wide conflict, with both franchises haveing a bug, power armoured human, and 'other' race.
