There was also a game published and now out of print called Star Trek Starship tactical combat simulator, which i do happen to possess, the rules were pretty good and combat system excellent. would like to see something like it reprinted.

If anybody wishes to sit down and look at turning VAS into a startrek system, let me know...

I wish to design a simple D6 system myself, but re-reading VAS it seems spot on -

Armour is Shields
Subs are coak ships
Phasers is spiltting fire
Torps, well as Torps

Damage control, ship fires, all seems to fit in...

I always thought 1x ships were horrendously silly. They're on 4Xl now?

Seriously, just stick to the B5W conversion if you want to use all the series, and go SFBif you want to go for the original series. Having next gen and dominion war era ships in SFB just gets super complex and sucky. Because they are going from the basis of TOS ships the next gen ships are colossal, and because they are colossal their weapons do huge amounts of damage, which you have to individually track. You'd be better off doing scaled down versions of TOS ships that are still around in that era and having standard sized next gen ships. However some of the Dominion war era ships are just silly.

Is there or is threr not going to be a Star Trek- ACTA miniature game?

There has been a lot of speculation around an about different boards.

Well, is there any hope of this happening?

As an Old ST Fan and ACTA Player i have to Say that MGP shoud better not to try to mess with Star Trek.

The problem with a Star Trek miniatures game is that the liscense would be expensive. . . and there are already really long, slow versions for those who like them. . . or fast play systems like Starmada that do a great job replicating combat in the ST universe.

I'm sure there are grognards who disagree with that. . . but then they probably like SFB/FC and don't count anyway. (Just kidding!)

Looks like Wizzkidz have the trek licance and are going to produce a game along the lines of Star Wars Starship Battles system.

MJ12games just recently announced a partnership with the company that produces SFB. Apparently a Star Trek dedicated Starmada version is going to be released along with regular supplements! Great news for people looking for an alternative to the cumbersome and slow SFB rules.
