Well, everyone is just leaving Mongoose HQ right now, tired but happy after a heavy day's fighting!

And, below, a summary of the commentary that was on the Eye on Mongoose page on Facebook;
The Star Fleet's Finest tournament has kicked off! The first round saw three complete wipe-outs, and the second round (now going on) has a very bloodthirsty variant of the We Come in Peace (Shoot to Kill) scenario.A lot of fear of plasmas in this one...
Next round, we have a dreadnought/fleet slugfest, and then a very special game at the end.
Current leaders are Stuart Excel (Federation), Richard Carr (Romulan) and Greg Smith (Federation), but everything could change after the second round. Will keep you all informed!
Second round done, and it sorted the men from the boys! It was an adjusted We Come in Peace (Shoot to Kill) scenario, with less objectives but having them placed at regular, set intervals on the halfway line.
Only one player (Ben Rubery, Klingon) managed to get the full 20 points, and three games ended in a draw. This included Stuart and Riochard on the 'top' table, which allowed Andy Don to sneak ahead in the tournament standings with a 17 point win.
Current standings after round two see the Federation taking the top two slots (Andy Don and Stuart Excel), with a Romulan player (Richard Carr) in third. The bottom three places are all Klingon fleets, which is interesting, but it is too early to make judgements!
Game three sees 1,250 point fleets in a dreadnought slugfest, so there is lots of carnage going on as I type this. Next update a little after 3pm GMT when the third round finishes and we go into the last set of matches!
Okay, third round complete. Most games saw fleets surviving (on one table, neither player lost a ship - and they had dreadnoughts letting loose!), but there was just one wipeout (Greg, Federation, his second wipeout of the day).
As it stands, it looks like one of the guys on the top table (Greg and Stuart Excel, also playing Federation) are going to clinch the tournament win, unless something very tragic happens to their game and the guys on the second table (Andy Don with his Federation and Ben Rubery with his Klingons) can pull a real blinder.
At the other end of the leaderboard, well, everyone has at least 10 points thus far! On the last table, Charles Lister is battling Derek Whittenby, both of whom have Klingons. As for Romulans, they seem to be pecking around either side of the middle of the leaderboard (the centre of which is dominated by Klingon players), but that all stands to change when the final points are factored in after the last game!
Got something a bit special for the last game - a two hour match of 2,250 point fleets. However, ships will be coming on in drips and drabs and every one of them will be badly damaged in some way. The winners will be the players who can marshal their forces and keep them alive while waiting for the bulk of their forces to arrive...
Results starting to come in for the last game, and there are an awful lot of 17/3 victory point scorings, which means fleets have been getting hammered! No results yet from the top tables...
Games have ended, the tournament is done!
Winner of The Monkey (last place), Charles Lister with his Klingons!
3rd place, only pipped by second due to having lost a game, Ben Rubery with his Klingons.
2nd place, also with Klingons (there were other fleets, I swear!), John Wall.
And the winner, with 83 points out of a possible 100, Stuart Excel, with his Federation fleet!
