Exactement. DUNE is one of the few things I fanboy because frankly its worth it. Its also what got me interested in politics (though sadly the House of Commons frowns on Sardaukar...)
sheilds render all projectile weapons useless. Lasgun + Sheild depending on the Strength each is set to. Anywhere upto a subnuclear expolsion at both ends. Anything going too fast bounces off a sheild.
