Smasher and Parry skill

I know that the smasher ability lets you ignore weapons with parry but does it do anything about the parry skill.

The way I would (and we do) play it is that the parry ability - whether confered by ability or weapon has no effcct: ie you can not make him re-roll one or more Melee Dice.

Parry:
You may force your opponent to re-roll one of his Melee Dice.

Smasher
A Smasher weapon cannot be parried.

:)

Since we're on the topic of parry How do you handle it when two models go up against each other and one has the parry ability, and the other has the parry ability, and parry on his weapon? (Neither have smasher)

1) one parry each cancel each other out, so model B forces only one reroll on model A.

2) all parrys go off and model A rerolls his two highest dice and Model B rerolls hes highest

Thanks for that, I had heard some of the people I play with claiming the other way. Personally as the person with the Demo Droid hero I prefer that option although it does make that skill a bit of a waste as combat characters seem to end up with either Call Me Master or come with Smasher on their weapon to begin with. I suppose it does help against bites or zombies though.

With the rules as written, the Parry talent does not give you the Parry ability it gives you the same effect as the Parry ability. However it's still called Parry so I'd say it's cancelled out by the Smasher ability.

Option 2 is correct, parries don't cancel each other out.

I still think it's easier to cancel parries out than have 2 or 3 or more possible re-rolls in a melee combat. It just prolonged an already long combat, IMO.
