I always thought it cool how Dragons had evolved from the large flying reptiles of the dinosaur age to survive the ice-age in Slaine's world of Tir-Nan-Ogg.
Though, I could never really understand how they managed to have Skulls made of Crystal and Gem stone eyes unless some sorcerey was involved.
Then I was reading about the War-Forged ( Some sort new fangled Magical Golem contructs from the Dungeons And Dragons world of Eberron.) Just something about these humanoid creatures reminded me the Dragons from Slaine's world. Some thing odd about their appaerance and considering what most of their heads were made out of.
Espeically the way Glen Fabry drew the Knucker. ( Slaine's Dragon Mount.) It did look abit like something that had been made from leftovers.
I think the Dragons here could have been artificial, magical contructs based on the flying Reptiles, altered to look like what we now know are fire breathing Dragons. I know it's long shot though, because the comics didn't really say much more than what they had said and what I am saying is definitly expanded but based on what I know from the comics already.
I opening this idea to criticism and debate. As I am not entirely happy with this new idea myself.
