skill penalties for armor in Arms & Equipment?

My copy of Arms & Equipment doesn't have skill penalties for armor. Anyone know how I figure them or is there a chart somewhere?

Thanks!

I believe that it is -5% for each one point of enc.

Rasta, thanks. I think I found it in the rulebook.

The main rulebook says: "Add together the AP of all the armour the character is wearing – this is the character’s Skill Penalty."

AP times the number of hit location times seems to calculate the penalty correctly (remembering arms and legs are two hit locations each).

Alot of people think that the given Skill Penalty is still a little high for most sets of armour, so there is also an optional system of using the ENC instead of the AP of each piece of armour as the Skill Penalty as well.

Just a suggestion, hope you like the A&E Guide!

Where are these?

Nah, I just add up all the ENC of the armour worn and use that number for the Skill Penalty.

Easy piezy.

What I have done for my game is to just use the standard rule but divide by 2. So Full Plate would be 6x7/2=21. So you get -21 to your skills.

I also got rid of the -40% to ignore all armor rule. Too powerful. :P

That's a nice option. I'll playtest the normal rules first and if the penalties are too high I will try your option. I might have the normal penalty apply to runecasting and the optional lower penalty apply to everything else.

After all, with the ninja suit in A&E a runecaster can have 1 AP to every hit location plus a bonus to Stealth with no penalty to skills. That option seems pretty fair using just the regular rules!
