Bryn the 2300AD guy
Cosmic Mongoose
I was wondering, given that other games using Hanrahan's Traveller engine have their own fora here, like Dark Conspiracy, should 2300AD be separated from the Traveller forum?
was extremely surprised when I got here that it didn'tAlso yes
Don't ask me I've never ever logged on to Facebook, and had no idea important discussions about 2300 were on such a limited discussion forumI understand that a lot of the conversation around the development of 2300 is on a Facebook group? As someone who left Facebook behind years ago I would ask not only why 2300 does not have a distinct forum here, but also why the main conversation about the development of the line is not happening here.
Just my 2c
There are multiple places that discussion happen and they reach different groups of people. There are some folks who are on discord, facebook, these forums, twitter, CotI, reddit, and bluesky. But I suspect that most folks are on only one or two or none of those.I understand that a lot of the conversation around the development of 2300 is on a Facebook group? Having been part of 2300AD discussion groups since the end of the last century I can confirm that these have been on both Facebook and the old Yahoo groups. Swy what you will about the inconsistencies of both the original GDW material or what Mongoose n has offered since, he easiest way to deal with these is "what does your referee/DM say?"There are multiple places that discussion happen and they reach different groups of people. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2300 facebook group existed long before Mongoose was doing anything official with the product. The 2300 fanbase certainly predates Mongoose and it certainly appears that the freelancer who does most of the 2300 development doesn't spend a lot of time posting here.
