By selfloading I mean any semiautomatis or fully automatc weapon , although the term is normally associated to semiauto weapons .
I wasn´t refering to ammo variants , but to "standard" , "cold" and "hot" propelant loads . In the EA of the 2220s onwards they have reduced both pistol and rifle calibres only to three standarised types :
- Pistol : 5mm (mainly used by small self defence weapons , like the Coleman 22), 9 mm (the only pistol ammo employed by Earthforce , both on pistols and SMGs) and 11mm
- Rifle : 5mm , 7nn (employed by Earthforce both on rifles and MGs) , and 11mm .
The humans also have a classification for diferernt powered variant of these calibres :
- Normal powered ammo is termed as Standard or Std (5mm tandard , 7 or 9 mm Standard and so on) .
- Low power ammo , normally used by selfdefence weapons (as the Coleman Defender) is termed as Special or Spc . In this cathegory there also are some non-lethal types of ammo . Same name convention than standard type ammo .
- High power loads receive the name of Magnum or MG , and they use the same name convention than Std or Spc amounition types . It is not as widely employed as many people would imagine , mainly due to the high recoil that it has . The most fomuos weapon that uses this ammo is the Coleman Magnum (11mm MG)
