We were supposed to play a bit larger game at our FLGS but things didn't go as we thought due to an unexpected affect of a con. Because of that we didn't manage to get more models than we already had and our landscape was a bit ... sparce. Well, adapt or die and so we went for a small game of two opposing squads. Here is the story as told by Sergeant Norton of USMC...

Place: Some green valley in Draconstanian highlands
USMC Mission: Seek out drug plantations and mark them to be destroyed
PLA Mission: Patrol the valley
"My squad was designated as a point squad for the task force. Our job was to find any drug plantations that might be at that valley and mark them to be destroyed later with larger force or by air strikes. We were also notified that there was a likely presence of PLA forces in that valley so I told my jarheads to stay sharp."
"We were moving slowly in row formation searching for signs of plantations and hostiles while weighted down by Landwarrior system and other kit. Just before a break Corporal Hawks noticed movement ahead. I figured that it must be hostile, probably PLA unit. As they began to spread out to three different fireteams we confirmed that they were indeed PLA."
"One of the PLA fireteams took over a small hill to our front left with their machinegunner taking a position at the top of the hill while two others stayd at the lower ground. I gave orders and so SAW gunner of my first fireteam opened up at the PLA unit forcing them to seek cover behind rocks and to retreat behind the hill. I stayed with the first fireteam in a small patch of thicker vegetation while Cpl Hawks took second fireteam to right flank where a small apparently empty hunting lodge was."
"The righmost PLA FT began their desperate run towards the hunting lodge in a vain attempt to reach it before the Marines could reach that cover in other so sparcely covered area. Still my disciplined and hardened Marines managed to get to the corner of the lodge and opened up with all their weapons (1 x SAW, 1 x M-203 and 2 x M-16A4) killing or mortally wounding all three running PLA soldiers. What were they thinking running like that?"
"At the left flank main PLA FT began to advance at full speed towards a cover but two first ones were cut down by a burst of our SAW gunner. At that point rest of the PLA squad ran away having taken 50% casualties without even having a chance to fire effectively against us."
"It was a sobering moment to see what happens when you are not in cover. Fortunately it happened to them and not us. It was a sort of baptism of fire that you can only wish for yourself and your troops. I'm just glad that I managed to bring my men back from the mission alive."

As you can see, we set the shattering point to 50% Without much cover and tanks or even two squads it was quite hellish place for both sides. I took some pictures at the starting locations but left the camera aside when the action began. I will add some pictures later when I have more time.
Hopefully next time we will have more units and more terrain...
