Here is my Shokaku. The deck markings are not quite historical because I could not get the "multi-pointed arrow" to look right.

1/2400 GHQ with Zeroes launching from the flight deck!

Primed with cheap Wal Mart grey primer, washed with home made "magic wash", painted with mostly Reaper MSP, washed again, dry brushed, and a couple of light Testor's Dullcote sprays. Base was cut from Plastruct styreene, ocean is Liquitex gloss heavy gel painted and then Valejo gloss medium painted on. The label is just something I made in Excel cut and glued to base.

I am working on getting Kurita's Center Force (23 ships!) uploaded and will post pics as soon as I get it done.

Scott

and I thought I was the only one who stuck little 1/3000 aircraft on his carriers!

looking pretty good!

My best advice for deck markings is to find a white Fineliner type pen. much easier than mucking around with paintbrushes.

That is a very pretty ship. :)

That is a quote similar to what the US Navy personnel said when seeing the airplanes from the Shokaku inbound to Pearl Harbor: "Oh, look. The Navy bombers are making practice runs on our ships. They look really cool."
